In the first half of 2020, the volume of venture capital investments in Russia decreased by 9%, Kommersant reports, citing a report by PwC and the Russian Venture Company. At the same time, the number of transactions decreased by more than one and a half times - from 130 to 78.
Cash volume has dropped from $ 263 million in the same period last year to $ 240 million this year. At the same time, 63% of the amount fell on one transaction: in the first half of last year, the Ozon online marketplace attracted $ 150 million from a group of investors. Excluding this deal, the volume of venture capital investments for the first half of the year is reduced to $ 90 million, and the market decline is 37%.
