The year 2020 marks the 275th anniversary since the birth of Mikhail Kutuzov and the 75th anniversary of Victory over Nazism in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).
Surprisingly, these two themes got intertwined in Sergunenkov's fairy tale and made it possible to create an exhibition dedicated to the great Russian commander and his image in Russian literature, art and propaganda.
The historical layer of the exhibition is based on images from museum funds, photographs, engravings and watercolors by contemporary artists and a model of the Kutuzov monument. The opening will take place in the hall of the Narva Triumphal Gate, which was built in honor of the return of the Russian troops that defeated Napoleon.
