Lawyers of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) of Alexei Navalny appealed to the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia with a demand to initiate a criminal case on the development, production and accumulation of chemical weapons (Article 355 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Russia announced the elimination of all stocks of chemical weapons in 2017, but the poisoning of Mr. Navalny with the Novichok poison suggests the opposite, according to  FBK.

“We turned to the FSB of Russia with a statement to initiate a criminal case under Art. 355 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the fact of the development, production and accumulation of prohibited chemical weapons", - the Telegram channel "FBK Lawyers" reports.

The Foundation's lawyers recalled that the chairman of the State Commission for the Elimination of Chemical Weapons reported on the completion of the destruction of all existing stocks of chemical weapons in Russia on September 27, 2017. “However, the poisoning of Alexei Navalny with a toxin from the Novichok group indicates not only the use, but also the development, production and accumulation of prohibited chemical weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the FBK added.
