The Shchelokovsky Khutor Forest Park - one of the largest and most visited green areas within the boundaries of Nizhny Novgorod - once again invites citizens for free excursions along the ecological path.
On the territory of the museum, unique areas of oak and deciduous forests are preserved, rare and protected plants are found here. Visitors of the ecological trail will get acquainted with the diversity of the nature of the Shchelokovsky farm, learn about its value and vulnerability.
Tours are free and designed for both adults and children. The curators of the project talk about the flora and fauna of the reserve, for example, how to determine the name of a tree from the leaves or how many species of birds you can meet while walking around the farm. On the territory of the Shchelokovsky Khutor forest park, specially planted tree species, unusual for these places, grow: yellow acacia, American maple, larch, irga, etc. The Museum of Wooden Architecture is also located here. Various thematic festivals are regularly held on the territory of the Shchelokovsky Farm, and the film "The Barber of Siberia" was also shot here. During the period of self-isolation, the forest park was closed to the public.
