During the coronavirus pandemic, the number of regions with a budget deficit doubled, Forbes calculated. Among them were Moscow and the Republic of Tatarstan. The total deficit amounted to RUB 147 billion.
According to the Federal Treasury, in April-May incomes fell in more than a third of the regions - 37. According to the results of five months (since the beginning of the year), a quarter of the regions had a deficit. Compared to 2019 and 2018, their number doubled - from 11 to 22. The accumulated deficit increased more than tenfold, to 147 billion rubles.
Anti-Leaders:
Moscow - deficit of 83 billion rubles;
Moscow region - 25 billion rubles;
Tatarstan - 16 billion rubles;
Sverdlovsk region - 7 billion rubles;
Arkhangelsk region - 3 billion rubles.
The publication notes that Moscow, Moscow region, Tatarstan and Sverdlovsk region are consistently in the top ten leaders in terms of regional income. Most of all, the crisis has affected precisely the "rich" regions with developed oil production or services.
