The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation reckons upon the opening of the Consulate General of Austria in St. Petersburg in 2020, according to the representative of the Foreign Ministry in the northern capital Vladimir Zapevalov.

      “This year, we hope to replenish our diplomatic colony. I can officially declare that the Russian party has agreed to open the Austrian Consulate General in St. Petersburg”, he said at a press conference at the Interfax North-West news agency on Monday. According to him, in 2020, the Honorary Consul of Portugal can resumehis work in St. Petersburg, just like the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire. In addition, the Russian party agreed to create of the post of Honorary Consul of South Africa - it will be taken by the businessman Vladimir Borisov.
