The Moscow International Domodedovo airport has put into trial a new generation scanner, that is supposed to eliminate the need for mandatory physical searches. Such searches were introduced for security reasons at Russian airports in October 2004.
Now with the new scanner, SafeScout 100, each check takes about two seconds. The entire examination process, including data analysis, takes about 10 seconds. Besides, this allows meeting ethnic requirements to checks of some passenger categories based on religious and other restrictions.
SafeView's patented technology detects objects composed of metal, wood, ceramic, plastic, and other material hidden on a person. The SafeScout sensing mechanism uses radio-frequency signals to get a holographic image of objects. These waves are absolutely harmless to humans.
