The TurStat portal has selected Top Ten of the world’s museums that were most visited in 2019. The famous Museum-Reserve of Peterhof near Saint Petersburg ranks 5^th in the list. 

       Last year, 6.3 million people came to see the famous fountains of Peterhoff. 60 per cent of the visitors were from Russia and the rest were foreign tourists.

      Top 10 most visited museums in 2019:

      Louvre Museum, Paris (9.6 million visitors);

      National Museum of China, Beijing (8.6 million visitors);

      National Aeronautics and Astronautics Museum, Washington (8,000,000 visitors);

      Metropolitan New York (7,400,000 visitors);

      Peterhof, St. Petersburg (6.3 million visitors);

      Tate Modern Gallery of Modern Art, London (5,900,000 visitors);

      British Museum of History and Archeology, London (5.8 million visitors);

      National Gallery, London (5,700,000 visitors);

      Museum of Natural History, London (5.3 million visitors);

      National Museum of Natural History, Washington (4,800,000 visitors).

      Peterhof: Main Attractions

      By the way, tickets to the museums of St. Petersburg were the most expensive in this country. At the same time, in 2019, St. Petersburg received a record number of tourists.
