Russian carrier Sibir may lose its license

Russian transport ministry is inspecting Russian airlines. Checks were launched at Aeroflot, Pulkovo Airlines, Transaero, KrasAir, VIM-Avia and Sibir (S7 Airlines). According to Russian daily Kommersant, the probe at Sibir has already finished. Prosecutors have found a number of errors in operation and technical servicing of the planes. According to the commission, 25 accidents have been registered on Sibir planes, more than a half from which were due to technical malfunction. 19 accidents have been registered on A-310 planes, operated by Sibir, since 2004. The airline was given one month to solve the problems. Should the company fail, it will lose its license. This measure, however, has never been taken against any Russian airline so far.
