Moscow, Tatarstan and St. Petersburg has topped the ranking of Russian regions in terms of the innovative development complied by the Higher School of Economics this year.
The top five also included Tomsk and Nizhny Novgorod regions. Regions in the ranking are divided into three groups: the first one includes leaders, the second one – the regions that are 20-40% behind the leaders, and the third group - regions with a gap of 40-60% from the leaders.
The second group includes 42 regions, the third one - 29. The gap exceeds 60% in Ingushetia, Kalmykia, Jewish Autonomous Region, Nenets and Chukotka Autonomous Regions,
