The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) invested in the manufacturer of surgical robots Assisted Surgical Technologies (AST).
Investments were made as part of the Investment Lift mechanism to promote the accelerated development of medium-sized non-oil companies with export potential. Investments will support the development and getting patent documentation, the further conduct of clinical trials and the production of industrial designs.
AST robots will reduce the cost of surgeries by about five times compared to foreign counterparts. The company plans to occupy 50% of the market in abdominal, gynecological and urological surgery.
