More than 150 works demonstrate all the facets of Vasily Polenov's art talent in the Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow.
Vasily Polenov (1844-1927) was an amazing artist, whose talent was manifested in painting, stagecraft and architecture. The exhibition presents over 150 works from 16 museums and private collections that span different periods and facets of the artist. Here you can see portraits, landscapes, canvases on historical and biblical stories, stage design sketches, and architectural projects.
The Russian Museum has provided the monumental painting "Christ and the Sinner" for exhibiting.
An entire section of the exposition is dedicated to the teaching activities of Vasily Polenov.
