Archaeologists suggest that it may lead into a legendary underground passage. An amazing discovery has been made in the course of the archaeological excavations presently taking place in the city of Vyborg, Russia.
Researchers have unearthed a medieval building, which they assume to be the mystical "Secret House". This building is mentioned in ancient legends regarding the underground passage that connects the Castle Island with the city of Vyborg.
The discovery was made on the southern rampart of the castle. In the opposite, northern part, archaeologists found a treasure. It turned out to be a historical wallet with 38 coins, two kopecks each. This is money from the epoch of Alexander I.
The Secret House is mentioned in castle reports of different times. According to the descriptions, it has a staircase to the shore of the strait.
