The “Dancing Forest” tourist route in the “Curonian Spit” National Park in Kaliningrad Oblast requires more careful attitude of visitors and needs protection, as the Director of the Park Anatoly Kalina reported.

The “Dancing Forest” is a tourist and natural gem of the Curonian Spit. Every day, hundreds of visitors come to see pines that have been given fancy shapes by nature. However, unfortunately, people not only admire trees. They stroke them, hug, climb them to take pictures, trample the soft soil around the roots. The pines have begun to dry and die because of this so-called “warm love”. 12 trees have already died. All the trees can die, the mysterious forest can disappear. We cannot let it happen”, Kalina stated. According to him, some of the most crooked pines have already been surrounded by wooden fences.
