Finland is expanding the list of documents needed for obtaining a visa by Russians from September 1, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.
As the message says, from September 1, the Embassy in Moscow, the Consulate General in St. Petersburg, as well as the offices of the agency in Petrozavodsk and Murmansk will begin to require the same list documents for obtaining a visa as other countries of the Schengen zone do.
From now on, an application for a tourist visa will have to be accompanied by a confirmation of accommodation during the trip and travel tickets. If it is not possible, the applicant will have to provide a written description of the travel route. They will also require to provide a confirmation of financial resources availability: this can be presented by a certificate of employment, a bank statement or a certificate of ownership in Russia.
