The Shchusev Architecture Museum holds an exhibition of Ephemeral Treasures. The exposition presents exhibits made of wood and papier-mâché.
The collection of exhibits created from paper that cannot withstand the test of time makes us reflect on the transience of historical events.
The exhibition is dedicated to the protection of cultural monuments of Madrid and the 80th anniversary since the end of the Spanish Civil War. During the war in Madrid, one of the city’s pearls, the Goddess Cybele Fountain, was destroyed. A wooden copy of it was brought to the Soviet Union as a gift for helping in battles against the Francoists.
