A half-kilometer stretch of the coastline was completely transformed. A few months ago, the coast of the island, where the townspeople used to go swimming, was littered and not clean. Sports facilities for volleyball and workout were equipped on the island, and an open-air stage was installed for entertainment events. Improvement of the beach was carried out by the municipal authorities and an investor in the framework of the project "Updated Astrakhan". Sand was brought to the island, raising the ground level by more than a meter. The city authorities installed lighting equipment, repaired roads and parking, and conducted sanitary pruning of trees. Garbage cans, changing rooms and toilets were  installed along the coastline.

It is noted that special attention is paid to safety. On the shore, a point for rescuers is equipped.  The water area of the Volga is fenced with buoys, and the children's bathing area is allocated separately.
