Tourists from the UK, USA and Germany are buying excursions to Chernobyl, the number of reservations has grown by more than 40% since the release of the HBO television series about the catastrophe at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

      According to the data of the local travel agency, the HBO “Chernobyl” TV series attracted the attention of foreigners to the exclusion area; the number of reservations already exceeds 40%. As the publication notes, the favorite tourist destination for one day trips is an amusement park with a Ferris wheel.

      They also can visit the 85-year-old lady Anna Zavorotnaya who lives in the exclusion area, having left her house only for 3 months in 1986, when the accident occurred. According to “The Sun”, a tour to the exclusion area for two foreigners costs about $ 250.
