Unique monuments of Russian icon painting from the collection of Victor Bondarenko are displayed at the Andrei Rublev Museum of Old Russian Culture and Art.Victor Bondarenko is a famous icon collector.  Over the past two years, the number of exhibits in his collection has increased markedly. At the same time, they ​​are almost unknown to the general public. 

       Now the Andrei Rublev Museum is bridging this gap.

      The current exposition “Stairway to Heaven” includes icons created on the eve of the reforms of Peter the Great, in the late Middle Ages and in the new era up to the early the 20th century.

      Special attention is drawn to the icons painted by Old Believers.

      The name of the exposition implies the possibility of spiritual ascent of a person with the help of prayers and concentrating on icons.

      Where: the Andrei Rublev Museum of Old Russian Culture and Art at the address 10, Andronevskaya Square, next to the Ilyich Square metro station, Moscow.
