Platonov Arts Festival Kicked Off in Voronezh

June 1, 2019, saw the opening of the 9th International Platonov Arts Festival in the Russian city of Voronezh

      
On the first day of the festival, the play Brothers and Sisters. Version 2015 staged by Lev Dodin with the Maly Drama Theater was performed. The dance productionVertical by the French choreographer Murad Merzuki was featured as well.

      
Visitors to the Platonov Arts Festival saw the Cosmos air show performed by the world famous Spanish high-rise theater Grupo Puja! The performance took place in the Admiralteyskaya Square of Voronezh.

      
In the framework of the festival, an art exhibition titled The Circle of Artists runs at the Kramskoy Museum. It presents paintings and graphic artworks from the collection of the Russian Museum, Saint Petersburg.

      
The 9th International Platonov Arts Festival will run till June 16.

      The festival is named after an outstanding Russian writer of the first half of the 20th century, Andrei Platonov.
