The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has raised two billion dollars from foreign partners, and plans to invest them in Russian companies in the field of artificial intelligence. The fund is already negotiating with 20 investment projects.
It is reported that funds for investment have been allocated by large sovereign funds and global corporations from the countries of the Middle East and Asia, in particular, from the UAE.
The fund plans to make 5-10 investments per year in companies with a stable business model; volume of investments will be calculated individually. RDIF is most interested in projects in the field of artificial intelligence and related fields - cloud computing, data collection and processing centers, etc.
The Foundation has already studied about 100 Russian companies and is negotiating with 20 of them. Thus, investment in the manufacturers of bioelectric prostheses “Motorika” and the Oncobox cancer diagnostics project have already been approved.
