The winners of the Master Award have been announced, the website of the Year of Literature informs. The award is granted by the Guild of Literary Translation Masters to the best translators of belles-letters into Russian.
The award is given in three categories. The winner in the Prose nomination is Svetlana Sipakova with her translation of Philip Roth's novel “Operation Shylock: A Confession”.
In the Poetry nomination, the winner is Irina Komarova with the translation of Ogden Nash's poetic collection “There is no Way to Get There from Here. One hundred selected poems.
Among the translators of children's books, there are two award winners: Natalia Kaloshina (Mark Twain’s “The Purloining of Prince Oleomargarine”) and Ksenia Timenchyk (Peter Soukupov’s “Who Killed Snowball?” And “Forced Labor in the Third Reich”).
