From July 20 to July 31, St. Petersburg will become the gastronomic capital of the world: the city will host the Worldchefs Congress. This is the first victory of our country in the history of the congress.
It is expected that the event will attract about 2000 representatives from all over the world. The application for the event was submitted by the St. Petersburg Convention and Exhibition Bureau jointly with the Russian National Culinary Association. The final competition included Lyon and Sydney that competed for the right to host the event; at the beginning there were 12 applications.
The Worldchefs Congresses that are held once every two years were established by the World Association of Chef's Societies, a non-profit organization established in 1928 in Paris.
