Everyday life of Ancient Russia and the Golden Horde will be recreated at the Tulip Festival in Kalmykia. The Tulip Festival will be held in Tselinny District of Kalmykia with the support of historical reconstruction clubs.

This year’s Tulip Festival will be held on April 20 and 21 on the territory of the “Shatta” eco-friendly camping site in Tselinny District of the republic (19 km away from the federal highway R-22 “Elista-Volgograd”). There is a separate platform for the clubs of historical reconstruction where you can get acquainted with the life of Ancient Russia, Medieval Europe and, of course, with the life of the nomads of the Golden Horde times.

      The main purpose of the event is to attract public attention to the preservation of the Gesner (Shrenka) tulips listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation - the wild ancestors of modern cultivated varieties.
