From April, Moscow is shifting to a new system of free visits to its museums. Previously, free entry to all Moscow museums was announced every third Sunday of the month, but the authorities concluded that it was inconvenient for public. Visitors do not get enough time to see several sites in just one day. Therefore, now every third week of the month, one of the seven days will be free in various museums alternately. For example, free entry will be announced by four museums of Moscow on Fridays, and more than 20 museums will welcome public for free on Sundays.
Thus, for the week from April 15 to April 21, it is already possible to plan visits to several museums at once. At least 40 institutions will participate in the project, including the Astronautics Museum, the Darwin Museum, the Museum of Moscow and other museums under
the jurisdiction of the city government. Pre-registration for participation in the action is not required for visitors. The museums’ work schedule remains the same as on regular days.
