Anna Sokolova, the leading actress of the Prokopyevsk Drama Theater, died right on stage on August 4.

      The actress, aged 50, passed away at the rehearsal of the Hanuima play. She was to play the leading role in the stage production. Anna Sokolova first took the stage at the age of 9 at the Biysk Theater. In the Prokopyevsk Drama Theater of the Kemerovo Region, the actress worked for 23 years. It is there where she met her would-be husband, Sergei Zhuykov.

      In 2015, the actress starred in the feature film "The Chief" by the famous Russian film director Yuri Kara. The film tells about eminent Soviet space engineer Sergey Korolev, the founder of applied space exploration. The leads were performed by Alexander Oleshko and Boris Shcherbakov.

      The cause of the death of Anna Sokolova has not been reported yet. The Prokopyevsk Theater is bidding farewell to the actress today.
