The Digital Renaissance Session was Hosted by Vnesheconombank at SPIEF 2018

The ‘Digital Renaissance’ session was hosted by Vnesheconombank at SPIEF 2018.

Artists are always ahead of their time. Creative knowledge of the world is an inexhaustible source of innovation for technological progress. During the Renaissance, creativity fuelled a multifaceted leap forward for humanity and kickstarted several industrial revolutions.

We are now living in a world that we created, one where change happens at incredible speed, and we find ourselves surrounded by unpredictable revolutionary technologies and artificial intelligence. Now is the time for a new, digital, renaissance. Creativity and art should help us to understand the challenges of our time, adjust the direction of our progress, and take the right step into the unknown.

The challenge of the Renaissance, namely the question ‘What kind of future awaits us?’ is evolving into the challenge of the new Renaissance: ‘Will humanity itself be taken into this future?’ The new Renaissance became a key topic for discussion at the session.
