President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Alexander Sergeev has received the French Order of Academic Palms.
The head of the Institute of France, Catherine Bréchignac, noted the great merits of the Russian scientist in the development of fundamental science. An outstanding researcher in the field of laser physics, Alexander Sergeev supervised the Academic Institute of Applied Physics and is the author of more than 350 scientific papers.
According to Professor Bréchignac, the granting of the French award testifies the relevance of and demand for scientific exchanges between Russia and France.
Currently there are more than 40 Russian-French laboratories working on the most promising scientific subjects.
