Wall Memorial to Sergei Kapitsa Unveiled in Moscow

Today, on the 90th birthday of Sergei Kapitsa, a commemorative plaque has been unveiled in honor of the outstanding scientist and science communicator.


      The memorial has been set up on the wall of House 13 in Leninsky Prospect, where Sergei Kapitsa lived for 63 years.


The author is the famous sculptor Georgy Frangulyan. He has portrayed Sergei Kapitsa as both in his youth and senior age. "Sergei said that he had won with his intellect in his youth and with beauty in maturity,”- said Georgy Frangulyan, who personally knew the great illuminator.


Friends, colleagues, relatives, and all people who are not indifferent to the life and personality of the brilliant educator gathered together at the unveiling ceremony.
