The Russian President Vladimir Putin has ratified the protocol to the agreement on the settlement of Kyrgyzstan’s state debt to Russia. The document has been posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The agreement on the write-off was signed in August 2017 by the finance ministers of the two countries. Vladimir Putin was asked about it by the Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev during the visit of the latter to Russia. The ratification of the document actually means the final cancellation of the country’s old debt equal to $ 240 million, whereas the agreement on its restructuring was achieved back in 2012.
