The port of Murmansk will become one of the stopping points in the tours from the Norwegian cruise company Hurtigruten, said the governor of the Murmansk region Marina Kovtun.
"In 2019, a cruise will take place from the Norwegian company Hurtigruten from Tromsø to Franz Josef Land with a stop in the port of Murmansk," the head of the region told in an interview to the Bi-port agency dedicated to the development of tourism. Since 2007, Hurtigruten has been interested in including the Murmansk port in its route network, Kovtun stressed.
Earlier, the Minister of Industrial and Entrepreneurship Development of the Murmansk region Olga Kuznetsova announced the inclusion of the port in the line of tourist products of Norwegian operators. The minister also reported that the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions, together with Norwegian and Finnish partners, applied to participate in the EU cross-border cooperation program Kolarctic with the project "Marine Arctic Tourism".
