Several thousand fans of winter fishing will gather at the X All-Russian festival "People's Fishing", which will be held on February 18 on the Volga in Konakovo district of the Tver region, the press service of the regional administration told Interfax on Friday.

      "Anyone who wants to try his hand at fishing, regardless of age and fishing experience, will fight for the title of the best fisherman in two rounds: the first stage is to catch the largest fish, the second one calculates the total weight of the catch," - said the agency's interlocutor.

      According to him, the event is held with the support of the government of the Tver region with the goal of developing sport fishing and preserving national traditions.
