Royal Opera House to Dedicate the Premiere of Rigoletto to Dmitry Khvorostovsky’s Memory

The world’s leading theaters are in mourning for the death of the outstanding Russian singer.

      The Royal Opera House, London will dedicate the premiere of its opera Rigoletto on December 14 to the memory of Dmitry Khvorostovsky.

      “It was in this stage production that Dmitry sang in 2005”, - the theater’s spokesperson, Anne Richards, said.

      The director of the Royal Opera House, Oliver Mears, added that the opera world has lost one of the brightest performers.

      "We will miss his artistry, his rich and beautiful voice, and the way was on stage and beyond. He was an excellent performer, full of humor, and very tactful”, - Oliver Mears said.

      Dmitry Khvorostovsky will be remembered as one of the most charismatic performers, whose repertoire included works from Verdi to Tchaikovsky and Mussorgsky.

      Dmitry Khvorostovsky died after a long illness at the age of 55 on November 22, 2017.
