"Specialists of the Institute of Chemistry of Solids and Mechanical Chemistry, RAS Siberian branch with the participation of colleagues from the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, RAS Siberian Branch have synthesized bismuth tricalium dicitrate - this compound forms the basis of effective antiulcer drugs. At present, the institute has already produced the first 200 kg batch of the substrate; 1500 kg more are planned to be made by the end of this year”, the report says.
The medicine is made on the basis of bismuth. Its salts are used in medicine as an active agent capable of destroying Helicobacter pylori bacteria, which provoke peptic ulcer. Preclinical trials have proven the safety of the new drug. As specified in the press service of the institute, the new drug is more convenient and safer in terms of production as compared to its foreign analogues.
