Film Director of Mathilda is Challenged to Duel in Yekaterinburg

Gennady Cheurin from Yekaterinburg claims that Alexei Uchitel with his film “Mathilda” insulted Nicholas II.

Alexei Uchitel was challenged to a verbal duel by a viewer from Yekaterinburg. It happened right after the screening of “Mathilda” in the Yeltsin Center in that city.

“Today in Yekaterinburg I have been called out to a “duel” by one of the viewers - he introduced himself as Gennady Cheurin, the head of the Center for Prevention of Social Emergencies”, - Alexei Uchitel told to journalists.
“It's about a verbal, conversational duel”, - Alexei Uchitel explained. “The viewer also gave me a letter reading that I made “a unique film”, but “offended the tsar”.
