Noise Does Good

Noise Does Good

Complete silence not only frightens and depresses you, it even reduces working capacity.

This fact is true in case of large cities’ dwellers, which spend their lives surrounded with various noises all the day round. Such a conclusion was made by a group of Moscow schoolchildren, who studied effects of neighbourhood noises on functions of human cardio-vascular system and psycho-emotional state, as well as working capacity.

Testees’ survey showed that most of all city dwellers dislike noises made by vehicles both at work and at home. Child noises, neighbours’ voices, dog barking and loud music appear to be most annoying at home.

Estimation of working capacity showed unexpected results – silence caused a greater part of mistakes during working. Best atmosphere for working was created by quiet music.
