The unemployment rate in Russia fell below five percent in August and reached 4.9 percent. This was reported by the Federal State Statistics Service on Tuesday.
The statistical agency points it out that 3.8 million people were classified as unemployed. In general, the number of labor force in the country made up 76.9 million people, or 52 percent of the total Russian population. Rosstat also reports that one strike involving 89 people has been recorded from January to August. “The loss of working time amounted to 89 work days” – they noted.
