Unique nose regeneration surgery was performed in Novosibirsk. The patient lost his nose several years ago due to face tumor removal.
      
      The citizen of Tumen suffered a lot – for years he could breathe only by means of his mouth and had to wear face bandage almost all the time.
      
      Surgeons chose an original solution – they decided to grow a new nose out of patient’s own tissues on his own body. The frame for the new organ was made of a costal arch’s cartilage. “Nose’s frame was wrapped in tissue and introduced in patient’s body. After that the nose was transplanted to the patient’s face”, says the leading surgeon.
      
      The patient is very happy with his new nose – it allows him breathing normally. In autumn he is going to take some plastic surgery just to have the form of his new nose corrected.
