The 13th International Muslim Film Festival will be held in Kazan from September 5 to 11. One of the largest film forums in Russia, it has been held annually since 2005. The festival program traditionally consists of the films that convey the ideas of peacemaking, tolerance, and finding the ways of building interethnic cooperation.
For the first time the festival has received applications from cinematographers of Malta, Myanmar and the Philippines. Works by cinematographers from Russia, Iran, Egypt, and Turkey are presented here as well.
A total of 60 nominees from 27 countries will compete for prizes of the festival. Among these there are 13 films produced in the Republic of Tatarstan.
