Russian Astronauts Usually Take Black Caviar to the ISS

A food diet based on special technologies is followed by astronauts at the International Space Station.

According to this regimen, the space diet includes two parts: standard (the products that make up the daily calorie supply) and optional. Astronauts choose products that can be manufactured specifically or products of industrial production.

As reported by chief designer Victor Dobrovolsky, it is black caviar that Russian spacemen take with them to the ISS most often. Mini sausages and canned fish are also popular. Besides, astronauts from different countries like to share their national food with each other. Foreign astronauts prefer Russian cottage cheese with nuts.
