Not less than six astronauts are expected to participate in future expedition to Mars. Each of them will have a separate cabin for personal needs.
“Expedition crew limitation to four persons can discredit its scientific value, because then astronauts would be able to work only for flight needs. Thus the crew should include a minimum of six persons, including a captain, a second pilot, a doctor and two researchers”, says a leading expert of the psychological support group of the ISS crew.
Psychologists tend to think that during flight preparations every member of the Martian expedition crew should learn two or more new professions. Crew psychic state management system includes auto-training and health aids. Living plants and vegetables are also expected to maintain comfortable psychic atmosphere on the board.
Martian expedition crew would be able to grow onion, garlic, chicory, parsley and beetroot on the board of their spaceship. Plant species list will be approved considering personal preferences of every crewmember.
