The RF Government forecasts that real household disposable income will enjoy a growth of 35 – 40 per cent by 2007 as compared to 2003. This has been reported by the Vice Premier Alexander Zhukov in his speech at the annual conference “Russia: investments into economy of growth”.
Mr. Zhukov stressed that the goal today is to cut down the number of Russians living below the poverty line from 30 mln to 10 – 15 mln people.
The Vice Premier noted that the reduction of poverty is not only the solution of a prior social and economic problem but it will also provide the basis for further economy growth. The fact is that the runup of Russian economy is now mainly provided due to domestic resources, including the expand of domestic demand.
Addressing foreign investors, Mr. Zhukov emphasized that recently mechanical engineering and communications have been developing faster than fuel and energy complex.
According to him the economy growth in Russia is transforming. “Though we still depend on business environment, the economy growth is becoming more and more supported by domestic factors such as expansion of domestic demand and diversification on investments,”- said Mr. Zhukov.
