The prices of a series of seasonal vegetables in Russia grew more than 1.5 times due to summer frosts. According to the data of Ministry of Agriculture, the price per kg for cabbage in June increased by 73.8 percent (up to 46.9 roubles) and the price for potatoes increased by 56.6 percent (up to 44.8 roubles), as compared with the corresponding period of last year, as the publication stresses, referring to the document titled “Overview of the Price Situation on the Agri-food Market”.
Prices for onions grew by 28.3 percent (up to 40 roubles), carrots became more expensive by 8.6 percent (45 roubles). Tomatoes and cucumbers, in turn, became cheaper — by 15.1 percent (the price dropped to 119.6 roubles) and 4.4 percent (to 81.3 roubles), respectively. The price for apples slightly increased - by 0.6 percent (up to 101 roubles).
