Russia and Turkey have signed a declaration on the mutual lifting of trade restrictions.

The document has been signed by the Deputy Chairpersons of the governments of the two countries - Arkady Dvorkovich and Mehmet Šimšek. The ceremony in Istanbul was attended by the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his Turkish counterpart Binali Yildirim.

On May 4 Turkey lifted restrictions on the imports of wheat from Russia. Ankara excluded Russia from the list of countries importing agricultural products without duties at the request of local companies that were not satisfied with the Moscow’s ban on the import of certain food products (for example, tomatoes). According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the import customs duty on wheat and corn amounted to 130 percent, rice - 45 percent, beans - 9.7 percent.
