The ceremony of the all-Russian theatrical award Golden Mask took place at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theatre.

      More than fifty theatrical figures have been awarded at the 23rd ceremony.

      The Lithuanian playwright Marius Ivashkevičius is among the winners. His stage  production The Russian Romance has become the Best Drama Performance. The Golden Mask goes to the People's Artist of Russia, Eugenia Simonova who played the lead.

      31-year-old Danila Kozlovskiy has been awarded for his virtuosic performance of the role of Hamlet.

      The best choreographers, operetta conductors, decorators and costume designers, and many other representatives of the theatrical backstage have taken awards as well. Actors Alexander Ursulyak and Yevgeny Mironov who hosted the ceremony noted that despite its grand scale, the Golden Mask once again confirmed its image of an honest, open and free competition.
