In January 2017, Turkey was visited by 40.1 thousand Russian tourists, which is by 81.5% more than during the same period last year, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the country reports.

      Last year in January, the number of Russian tourists decreased by 56.7% compared to the same period in 2015. In January, Russian tourists took the 5th place in the number of visits of foreign guests to Turkey after travelers from Georgia, Iran, Germany and Bulgaria. In total, 1,055 million of foreign tourists visited Turkey in January, which is by 9.8% less than in January 2016.
