Stage and film actor, the People's Artist of the USSR, Oleg Basilashvili has won the Five Evenings theater prize.
The award will be presented to the actor today, on February 8, at the Alexander Volodin Festival "Five Evenings", before the play "Autumn Marathon" staged by Sergei Levitsky from the Ulan-Ude Russian Drama Theatre.
The Five Evenings prize is a miniature bronze sculpture of the famous Russian playwright Alexander Volodin. The sculpture was created by Georgian artist and stage director Rezo Gabriadze.
The prize has no money equivalent. It is awarded to the first and outstanding performers of roles in plays and films based on writings by Alexander Volodin. Stanislav Lyubshin, Larisa Malevannaya, Zinaida Sharko, Lyudmila Gurchenko, and Alisa Freundlich earlier got this award.
