Starting from February 2017, the Ministry of Finance will begin to carry out transactions of purchase or sale of foreign currency on the domestic market. The agency will involve the Bank of Russia for commitment of these transactions. The relevant information is contained in the report of the Ministry of Finance.
The Finance Ministry notes that the purchase or sale of foreign currency will be carried out in order to “enhance the stability and predictability of the domestic economic environment and reduce the impact of the volatile energy market conditions on the Russian economy and public finance.”
