Technical consultations between the Rosselkhoznadzor and the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency took place in Moscow on January 24, 2017. They were initiated by the Bulgarian party which confirmed its high interest in practical use of Russian e-certification system IS «Mercury» for trade in animal consignments with Russia.

      The Russian party thanked the Bulgarian party for their interest in information systems developed by the Rosselkhoznadzor in order to ensure biological and food safety as well as product traceability. In particular, it was pointed out that e-certification of consignments was justified by the need to prevent potentially hazardous products accompanied by falsified documents from import into Russia.

      Today the Rosselkhoznadzor actively cooperates with a number of countries on the use of this e-certification system. The highest cooperation level has been achieved with New Zealand, Chile, China and Brazil. The e-certification system for the export of animal products from the EU Member States to the Kaliningrad Oblast is being tested.
