The new concept of spatial development of Moscow for a new master plan involves the transfer of the business activity away from the centre boundaries by the summer of 2017.
As the newspaper notes, the current general plan was adopted by the former Mayor Yuri Luzhkov in 2010 and did not take into account the population growth rate and the number of vehicles. The documents developed by the Research and Design Institute (SUE RDI) of the General Plan of Moscow proposes to create business centres near the transport objects under construction outside the Central Autonomous District.
New business areas, according to the concept, should appear near the metro stations of the Moscow Central Ring, the third interchange metro loop under construction, North-West and North-East chords, South lateral road, the embankment of the Moskva River and advanced metro stations. It is planned to build a total of nine such centres at the intersection of transportation routes.
